AMSA Real Market Survey

Research Methodology

Study Design

Each study is built as a structured, conditional questionnaire: an initial set of simple questions, followed by additional questions shown only when relevant to a respondent's previous answers. This keeps the experience short for everyone while still capturing detail where it matters.

Distribution

Survey links are shared directly with the population being studied — for example, independent restaurant owners and managers for the current restaurant study. We do not purchase third-party respondent panels for our initial studies.

Analysis

Responses are grouped and analyzed in aggregate to identify patterns across respondent type, business characteristics, and stated priorities. We report completion rates and sample sizes alongside any published findings, and we do not use language implying a scale of response we have not actually reached.

Limitations

Our studies are not randomized samples and are not intended to be read as nationally representative statistics. They are structured, honest snapshots of the respondents who chose to participate, useful for identifying real patterns rather than making precise population-level claims.

Independence

A Real Market Survey is a research initiative of One Percent Better Press. We are not a university, nonprofit, or government entity, and we do not claim any such affiliation.
